Many antique and old samplers have been dedicated to Adam & Eve and the Tree of Life. Caroline Reeves stitched her sampler in 1830, probably in Pennsylvania, and Becky deVries-Wong owns this sampler in her private collection of antique needleworks. Becky is also one of the two owners of “In The Company of Friends”, together with Julie Buck. I asked Becky and Julie permission to create something inspired by their set, obviously reproducing some motives, even though .....

This sewing set has lovely purse with a front and back band closure, embroidered inside and outside, and five needlework accessories. This model is stitched with variegated hand dyed silk threads by The Thread Gatherer. I always desired to be a teacher at The National NeedleArts Association shows and this is the reason why I designed a small set of sewing accessories for a class in Nashville. My goal was to show that finishing can be simple or primitive, but still classy. My original set was formed by a scissor tip "etui" or scissors stand, a needlebook, and a thread keeper etui. When I was informed that I had been accepted as a TNNA teacher for the 2010 Nashville show......

This is a special sewing set with a scissors case and fob, a needlebook and threads-thimble keeper. I have used beautiful hand-dyed threads and fabric, plus matching wool felt by Weeks Dye Works. The red thread is more a sort of peaceful burgundy red and the green is simply perfect for my design. The finishing information are very detailed and templates are included in the chart pack.
With the same threads and fabric, I have also designed a matching biscornu which is published in the book “Un Natale da Ricamare 2008” edited by Mani di Donna, Roma Italy.

A beautiful sewing purse, with two secret compartments for sewing tools, stitched with antique sampler motifs, dedicated to my dearest friend Marsha and her husband Kenny. The original 18th Century sewing purse, belonging to my collection of antiques, was reproduced by Judy Odell from Just a Thought. Judy and I have designed our own models and she wrote the finishing instructions. Stitched with The Thread Gatherer silk threads on Basketweave linen from Lakeside Linens.
For this special piece, we commissioned a wonderful turtledove color thread winder of black lipped mother of pearl, available from us as a separate purchase. Brass tools and waxer available from Just a Thought.
